Granite™ padlock ABUS 37/55 – the padlock for the highest security demands. With the 37/55 granite halls, doors, gates, containers, trucks etc. can be locked. Due to its black granite coating, which protects against corrosion, it is particularly suitable for outdoor use. The ABUS-Plus disc cylinder also provides a very high level of protection against attempts at manipulation. The production takes place according to the European standard CEN class 4. The product series Granite is manufactured in Germany. The key with LED is particularly practical for operation in the dark. Granite locks are available either with a code card for quick and easy creation of duplicate keys or with a security card for full control over the number of keys in circulation.
ABUS Granit™: one of the most secure padlocks in the world with a tensile resistance of over six tons
The pulling resistance of the granite locks is six tons and more, so that it is almost impossible for attackers to forcibly detach the shackle from the lock body. The special ABUS-Plus locking system is extremely effective in warding off manipulative attempts to break in, such as picking.
Violent attacks on the cylinder are also prevented, as there is a steel plate in front of the cylinder opening that does not hold the drill bit. The body and shackle of the granite locks are covered with a special black coating that provides a very high level of rust protection. All of these properties ensure that granite padlocks are among the safest in the world.
Key copy protection – copy keys only when presenting the security card
All granite locks are also available as a so-called “SZP version”. This version is supplied with a security card which contains information on how any duplicate keys are to be created. It is important that additional keys can only be produced if the card is presented personally to the locksmith. This means that the owner of the lock or card always has full control over how many duplicate keys are actually in circulation.
In the commercial sector, making illegal key copies can lead to high damage. There is not always a bad intention behind this – but if an employee has an additional key made without the knowledge of the superior, this automatically represents a security risk. This cannot happen with a lock with key copy protection. Key copy protection means that people can only obtain duplicate keys on presentation of a so-called security card. This card should therefore remain in the hands of its owner at all times.
